Lenten Practice: Day 3

Lenten Photo A Day Practice:  Steps in the Snow

March 7
It is incredible that this year the snow is so deep that in order to get into the back yard these steps were required to climb the hill of snow.  The propane delivery man needed these steps to put propane in our tank, which was so low because the cold snap that we had to call for the delivery.  We have been grateful during this harsh winter that we have the resources to have a warm house and a safe place to live.  There is something about being shut-in in the midst of snow storms to help one appreciate the comforts of home and not to take them for granted.  My questions today have me wondering about this huge amount of snow and what is buried beneath it?  What lies dormant waiting for the melt? - what is in me that is waiting to melt? - what stairs have I built within that have been helpful but will disappear in time?

Psalm 95: 6-7  O come, let us worship and bow down, let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker!
For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand.
